Chrissi Island

One of the 81 uninhabited islands off the coast of Crete is Chrissi. The island lies only a 45 minute boat trip from Ierapetra - the southern most town of Europe - but once you get there you can't be sure whether you have maybe landed in the Caribbean.

Thousands of purple shells, bleached white by time and the sun, ground to fine, seemingly gold sand by the wind and sea and from which the island gets its name (Chrissi = gold). A place to dream, swim and go walking. There are 2 tavernas to take care of your well-being.
